We dont know what ICD-9 code to use. We also dont know what the call ws about. It could be a simple call to make a referral and transfer of care.    The call could be included in the E/M in the Medical Decision Making.  If yu could bill it, it doesnt mean the insurance company will pay for it.

I am wondering if you can bill for a doctor to doctor telephone conversation about a mutual patient?  If so, what CPT and ICD9 code should be used in order to be reimbursed?

Thanks everyone!  I am so glad I have this forum.
