Yes, theft is a concern to me because I've heard many doctors complaining about theft problem and I can't be in the clinic. There is no 100% way to prevent theft, but with more people using check cards for everything, its not a big concern for the providers that I work with. You have to do audits on your accounts. If a check in person collects a $30.00 cash copay,and does not post in the system, it will appear that the client did not pay. If they adjust off, it will show in the system. With most Web based software you can track all movements via the initials in the system. My opinion is if you don't trust your staff, you don't need them there.
