To reiterate, income tax questions are better answered by a tax attorney, or a CPA.  One thing we dont want to do is to give advice that may cause the questioner to pay any additional taxes, penalties, or undergo an audit. Health insurance and taxes are two different issues.  As always, insurance questions are better answered by the insured's insurance company, or employer if insurance is provided as a benefit of employment.
